The Bude area has a rugged coastline with coastal paths, small sandy bays and attractive places to visit and activities within easy reach, a few are listed below.


Crackington Haven – a pleasant beach when the tide is out with its own eating places and pubs.

Clovelly – a quaint little seaside village spilling down the hillside that is a pleasure to walk down.

Hartland Point – a rugged viewpoint on the coastal path with a pebble beach and refreshments available.

Boscastle – a beautiful harbour and village in a rocky inlet.

Padstow – a lovely little town and harbour on the River Camel estuary with interesting walks, views and beaches and also some very good restaurant.

There are many gardens in the area to visit:

The Lost Garden of Heligan – the gardens were at a peak at the end of the 19th century. These gardens disappeared from view but have now been ‘discovered’ again. Well worth a visit.
Rosemoor – a garden for all seasons. The garden is a unique and enchanting place with a
superb and wide ranging collection of plants.
Cotehele – an ancient and romantic place lost in woodland above the
River Tamar.
